Platte County Has All the Best That Wyoming Has to Offer

Wheatland Map

Nestled under the watchful view of Laramie Peak sits the small rural town of Wheatland, which is the seat of Platte County. Four other small vibrant communities are a part of the county as well which include Chugwater, Guernsey, Glendo, and Hartville. Each town holds its own unique charm.

In Chugwater, you’ll find the state’s oldest Soda Fountain, and a live entertainment at the Stampede. One of the state’s first charter schools will be in this small little friendly town. Want a great place to raise a family? You’ll love it – especially if you want wide open spaces.

In Guernsey, you’ll find one of the county’s state parks at Guernsey Reservoir. Along with that, you can enjoy some of the best pizza this side of the Mississippi at Ben’s Bar which is also a community gathering spot. You can float the river, cliff dive or water ski all in one day during the summer months while enjoying some of the fun festivals the town puts on. It’s a family friendly community with a great school system.

Head up I-25 and you’ll find a little town that bustles in the summer and hosts ice fishing in the winter. Glendo State Park offers great fishing, boating and water recreation along with hiking trails and Rooch’s Marina. It’s a fantastic place to spend time relaxing and refreshing away from the bustle of city life. It’s also a nice place to live if you want beautiful views, friendly people, and a much slower pace of life.

Wheatland is a big little town, and we think Laramie Peak is our back yard. Hosting one of the cleanest coal-fired power plants in the nation, the people of Wheatland are proud of providing clean energy to our neighbors. Additionally, the town is a huge farming and ranching community with an array of ranches that offer first rate, tasty meats and produce. There is a lot of innovation in the area, and we are proud of traditional heritage and our ability to think outside the box. Boasting a lovely city park, reservoirs for fishing and boating, a public golf course, many church denominations, a historical downtown, and beautiful home options, the town is a great place to raise a family and run a small business.

We love Platte County, and we think you will too. Be sure to look around and consider calling it home. When you’re ready, Cindy is happy to show you options that will make living here a reality.

Cindy did a great job. Communication was very good. We were 500 miles away during this house hunting time and for the pruchs of the house we chose. Cindy’s communication, phone calls and emails were so important to us and gave us confidence in the process. Gret to be here, thanks to Cindy. Even after the sale, it was 10 days until we moved, Cindy watched and checked on the house for us. This gave us peace of mind.
